Title: Is Jerusalem An Unknown Location?
Dear Secretary Powell,
In looking through the State Department’s website, I found in http://usembassy.state.gov/ the locations of U.S. embassies and consulates located in the Middle East and North Africa. One cannot help but note that in every city in which you have a location, the country is included with the exception of Jerusalem.
Please advise if you have a consulate in any other country but Israel in which the city is also called Jerusalem. Also please advise if the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem, Israel is located in any part of the ‘disputed areas.’
If the answers to the above are ‘no’, then I would expect to see the word ‘Israel’ added to the location of your consulate in Jerusalem.
Very truly yours, Jack de Lowe
